It has been a crazy month and haven't been able to post. Babies are wide open and outta control. Store is receiving 2012 product. Help is back in school. I haven't enjoyed a bicycle ride in probably 2 months.....may try to do the backroads century this weekend, I should be fine, I have ridden at least 150 miles this whole summer?

I'm so far behind, I think I am FIRST!

big ride tomorrow

Headed out for a big ride tomorrow, nearly 200 miles. Leaving house and headed to smoke hole canyon out past Petersburg, WV. This ride will entail nearly 14000 feet of climbing....it is going to be fun!

Bike shop by day, daddy by eve, business at midnight

Well now than I m a father of 2 beautiful girls and owner of a 3 year old fast growing bicycle shop....my life is changed. The sleep I enjoyed has suddenly disappeared and the crazy wreckless/try anything/race anything lifestyle I lived is OVER.

The bike shop eats my time all day (yes it fun, but it is also a great deal of work, and I chose to do it), then when I make it home, I enjoy spending time with my girls until we are all whipped, then pass out asleep.....get wakened by a hungry baby in the midnite and spend the midnight doing the shop office work, emails, blog, marketing, ordering, etc......pass out again, awaken and enjoy my motorcycle alone time ride to the shop to start over.

Yeeha, glad I waited until I was 40 to decide to do this!

Wow what a week!

It's been a wild week, slow at times, crazy at others....people are buying bikes and fixing bikes and still riding in this heat!
Our group rides have lacked participation, due to heat, vacations, injuries, and etc.....lets hope the rides start to pick up again. We ride Tue and Thur eve, be at shop by 6PM, we like to be riding by 6:15. 20-30 miles at a 17-19mph avg pace, no drops, wait at stops and intersections, we have FUN!

The other crazy thing this week is anxiety for a new addition to my family....since starting this shop my wife and I have settled and started a nice little family and have acquired many new friends....this bike shop/family business thing will be fun for years to come.

We need to start using this blog feature to let more folks know whats going on at the shop. I have been a little crazy of late as business has been steady, trying to keep track of my 2 yr old little girl, and awaiting the arrival of our new baby any day (no we do not know the sex of the baby, nor a name)...one of life's greatest surprises and gifts!

So I am going to start posting a little more regularly.

To just update on the store, it is jammed with product from bikes, to clothing, shoes, helmets, car racks, gels, lights, baskets, you name it and we have something in stock. We are starting to get a lot of 2012 products in from Specialized, Cannondale, Fuji, Breezer, and others. We just built an awesome 429 from Pivot Cycles....this is one of the last new 2011 Pivot 429s available in the states. Red anodized medium frame and built with all SRAM XO components....it's light and fast, the best 29er I have ever ridden. It retails for a little over $6K, come in for the best deal.

We are also having a blow out sale on in stock clothing, all items from Specialized, Bellwether, and Cannondale 30% off, and get an additional 10% off if you purchase a bike.

Is everyone ready for a great Thanksgiving day? It's been a wonderful couple of weekends, some great riding weather. Hope everyone has been out enjoying the outdoors! I am sure everyone has something positive that has happened this year and plenty to be thankful for! We have had a wonderful year and made some great friends. We are very thankful for everyone who has visited us and been part of our building of a community cycling store. This is what we have for you this time:

We are growing and have added some new members to the Eastern Panhandle Bicycle family! Specialized, Globe, BH, and Pivot.
We have brought these guys in to help broaden and compliment our current line up of Cannondale, Fuji, SE and Breezer. Speaking of Breezer, check their new steel mountain bike! Breezer Lightning.
We have a good selection of Specialized and Globe currently on route to the store. Little bit mountain, little bit of road, canal bikes, comfort bikes, kids bikes, shoes, helmets, accessories. Come in and take a peek, if it's nice out ask to take a test ride....we will let you ride any bike in the store. Bring your helmet or we will let you borrow one.
We have a couple of the BH and Pivot bicycles on the way as well. You may have seen BH in the Tour de France last year with Team AG2R wearing the Yellow Jersey for 8 days!

Pivot you may recognize as having the Mach 5 and Mach 4, winner of MTBR's best of 2009 as rated by riders!

Layaway.....We would love to hide a bicycle here for you to pick up on Christmas Eve!!!The 2010 bikes are coming in daily and the floor is packed with many models to choose from. We also have kids bikes in stock with more on the way. What a great gift to give, a great feeling seeing that new bike under the tree!We also have some gift sets for the cycling enthusiast and we can make some recommendations for gift ideas. We also have gift certificates available if you can't decide.

There has been some work on trails at Poor House Farm Park, after the holidays look for more info on trail building! In the meantime, ride out to the park and take a ride around. Let us know what you think and what you would like to see for trails.

We are planning for a women's only road weekly ride night from the shop for the upcoming 2010 season. Watch for more info once we get the details worked out.

We have heard from several customers who are heading for New York City for the 5 Boro Bike Tour in early May. 30,000 Riders and it fills up quickly once registration opens. Check it out if you have a chance.

This one low labor price covers all work done on the bike. Need new tires and tubes? A new chain or headset? No problem! The only extra charge is the cost of the parts replaced. We remove all drivetrain parts and clean and re-lube them. All bearings are opened up, cleaned or replaced and re-installed. Wheels are trued and tensioned. All cables are pulled and replaced. Your bike never had it so good! The low labor price includes any accessory installation for no additional charge! Need a set of fenders or maybe a cycle computer?
